Business runs smoothly when its processes are understood and are part of the embedded culture of the organisation. Lean systems can only come into reality when the business processes are mapped and modelled correctly.

Probably one of the most important business processes is Industrial Housekeeping. There are so many consequences of poor housekeeping (safety, image, quality, etc) that it should be at the forefront of management thinking.

So, having and understanding processes is the key to good business practices and success. We find that people believe they understand a process, and it is not until they really dig deep into the process that they find where things have gone wrong, or could easily go wrong.
